Krakow old town


Today the old town attracts many tourists from all over the world. Krakow is one of the 14 places in Poland inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The architectural complex of the Old Town has survived all cataclysms of the past and kept unchanged since the Middle Ages system.
Throughout the year, here is noisy and crowded. The place is full of life at any time of the day. There are crowds of tourists, tireless florists, street artists and musicians, and the government of guests waiting for cabs. Market Square is one of the largest squares in Europe, the location of the city was built on the Magdeburg Law in 1257. It has a square shape with dimensions of 200 mx 200 m. Here stands the town hall tower, three churches, the Cloth Hall, houses and Adam Mickiewicz monument. With it you can listen to an hourly bugle call from the tower of St Mary's.
There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs situated nearby buildings. The most famous pubs are min. restaurant "Wierzynek" club "Under Lizards" and the cellars 'Palace under the Rams'. Held numerous cultural events, concerts and exhibitions.
One of the symbols of Krakow Krakow is a bagel, which can be bought in small street stall. Krakow bagels are offered in a variety of flavors: with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, salt or other posypkami.
Krakow symbolic doves did not come out of nowhere. According to legend, Henry IV Probus, who tried to take a senior district, in the days of feudal disintegration was going to go to Rome asking for monetary sacrifice coronations. A sorceress turned his knights in pigeons, and they ate pebbles from the walls of St Mary's Church, which turned into gold. With this wealth Prince went to the Vatican, but along the way he lost everything and did not reach the Pope. Despite the return of the sovereign to Krakow not regained his knights human form.
